Hands Free Pouch.....

So this idea was born from needing something and not being able to find it. I needed something to carry what I needed, it had to be small and it had to leave my arms free.

 Velcro to secure the flap.
Zipper on top and a zippered pocket.
Tada. A pouch that I can fasten on my waist and around my leg. And surprisingly its not uncomfortable. I admit its not the best project I have ever done but it will serve its purpose. If anyone is interested in seeing it in the shop please let me know. I am sure it will look better since this is my first one. :)

Have a great Wednesday,

Allison

Nickelback Bag................

I have been waiting a long time to make this bag and finally with the concert days away it is finished. Originally I had planned on making a messenger bag using the t-shirts a friend graciously sent to me from New Jersey. Then with no real stable way to make the shirts a fabric that would stand up to the abuse a bag takes I decided to make this one with the t-shirt prints appliqued on. I am very pleased with the way it turned out and want to make more. There is an inside pocket for my phone as well as heavy stitched accents along the sides of the bag and the handles.
Now for pictures.

The front.
I had planed on doing a tutorial with this one but the camera ran out of juice and I had no time to wait for the battery to charge. Sorry, may be next time.
Top stitched around the top of the bag with heavy stitching.
Heavy stitching on the sides along the seam.
Inside pocket for my phone.
The back of the bag. This was the best picture of the guys. They all look good in this one.
Single stitch applique around the entire design.
A closer pic of the applique.
Better pic of the front applique.
The stitching is not as perfect as i wold like however I was using a regular foot. An applique foot would have been better.
Top stitching on the underside.
Better view of the pocket.
Top stitching on the outside.
Better view of the top stitching on the sides. I used a jeans needle throughout the project however for this effect I had two stands of thread through the needles eye to create this look. Of course I used both sides of the tension discs of the machine for each one of the threads.
Bottom of the bag at the corner.
Another view of the bottom corner.
Another picture of the guys. :)
Front.
Back.

Have a wonderful week everyone and be sure to check out the store. There is a link at the top of my blog on the left hand side. I am still adding things as often as I can. Update: I plan on having a grand opening in the early part of July. This means I am planning on some special things.

Grab life by the horns and shake it!

Busy Busy Month........But I got new items listed for the store...

This has been an extremely busy month. I am pet sitting all month long going to 3 different homes, my daughter is at the end of her school year and there is planning the trip to Oklahoma with my family. Not to mention the sewing projects I have enlisted myself to do. Though its been busy its been great.
The store is being stocked slowly but surely with all kinds of lovely goodies. I cannot wait until the grand opening which may have to be pushed back until the first of July. The camping trip is at the end of June when I had previously planned my grand opening. That just gives me a little more time to stock the store. The grand opening and give away will be announced next month. Follow my blog for details.
Now I will show you some pics of the new items listed. All items picture have been washed in a gentile soap and line dried.

So far so good and running out of steam. Earlier this week my neuro doc says I am doing well. So all good there.
This weekend is the birthday party for my kids. We are cleaning fast and furious, shopping and preparing.
I have also found soap for the linens I bought at the estate sale. They will line dry, be ironed and listed. Yay.
Oh and I got to play with a 13,000 dollar Bernina sewing machine. Drooool

This Week.....................

Well I must say I think I may have bitten off more than I could chew for the week. We have a birthday party for the kids this Saturday, I am sitting 9 cats this week, the house needs an overhaul etc. Believe me its alot of stuff.
Any way I hope your week is going well. I have added a few more glass pieces to the store and hope to get a few things up today and I am still trying to decide how I want to clean all the linens I bought from the estate sale. There may be a couple of pieces I won't wash myself to presarve them for the buyer. Of course when I wash an item it is in the description.

Have a great rest of the week,

The New Store is finally here. Keep in mind it is a work in progress. The grand opening will be in about a month from now.

I was playing around with all kinds of things so I could put up a banner for the sight. these where a few.
And here recently I have been working on some burp cloths for a fund raiser, which is one reason for the lack of hand made items in the store. However I am working on some ideas for neat items to list.

Have a great rest of the week,

Allison
